candle care

to ensure optimal candle PERFORMANCE, here are a few tips and tricks

  • Burn within eyesight, and keep at least 1-2 feet away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Only burn candle on a level, fire resistant surface

  • Trim the wick ¼ before lighting. Trimming the wick decreases the amount of soot (black smoke) when you relight the candle. Soot often builds up on the openings of the candle which can become hazardous as the candle burns down. Trim the wick!

  • Avoid vents drafts or air currents to ensure even burning

  • Stop use when only 1/2’’ of wax remains. This is how you will know you are ready for another Audrey D Candle! Burning the candle past ¼ can be hazardous

WOODEN WICKS

  • Let your candle burn until the pool of melted wax reaches the edges of the vessel. Wooden wicks have a memory. The first burn will determine optimal burn time and quality burn of your candle.

  • Remove burnt wood debris from previous burn. This can be done by gently brushing your finger across the top of the wick. This is an easy way to trim the wick.

  • If your candle appears to be tunneling, give it a good long burn (but not more than 4 hours) to allow the wax to reach a full melt pool. Short burns can often cause tunneling.

  • If your candle looks like it is struggling to stay lit, or appears as if it is dying, put it out, let it cool, and relight it.

  • Candles burn differently at each level. You may notice a more even burn towards middle of the vessel. This is because more heat is trapped within the vessel allowing more wax to melt.

Reed Diffuser Care

  • Flip reeds every 2-3 weeks to keep scent fresh.

  • Reeds typically lasts 2-3 months

  • You can control the strength of the scent by adding or removing the number of reeds in the diffuser. Each reed diffuser comes with 6 reeds. If you feel like the scent is to strong, try using 4 or 2 reeds at a time.
